Perception of color as a band in the chromatic spectrum is independent on the language, user or context; therefore, the denotational meaning of any color is universal. At the same time, connotations and symbolic meanings of color terms are individual, to a great extent determined by linguistic, social, and cultural factors. It makes color symbolism a powerful tool in communication of a wide range of meanings, evoking networks of associations and triggering a myriad of emotions. The combinations of existing symbols contribute to the constant evolution of a language and result in the creation of a basically infinite number of meanings mapped onto the concepts and organized following the constraints of the given thematic field.
