In this paper, wireless mesh network was explored in a simulative and experimental way based on Dash7 wireless transmission technology. The aim of the research is to study Dash7 Alliance Protocol implemented device operation in an experimental wireless sensor network (WSN) model to find out, whether it is possible to provide a WSN coverage for a typical urban district area in Riga city and establish successful machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. Experimental custom made WSN data transmission device was created and used also to analyze power consumption in different transmission modes.
