Integration of renewable energy sources and the improvement of the technological base may not only to promote the reduce of the consumption of the fossil fuel and environmental load, but also to ensure the power supply in regions with the difficult fuel delivery or power failures. The research showed, that the electricity, which was produced from renewable sources, may be much more expensive than purchased from the conventional grid. European Parliament and Council defines specific requirements for each Member State in relation to the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency of buildings, therefore it is necessary to create technical solutions, which will increase the efficiency of the use of the renewable energy sources. The main goal of the thesis is to develop technical solutions that can provide effective operation of the wind generators in the small power microgrids, that means stable operation of the consumers and wind energy conversion at as wider generator speed range as possible. The information about microgrids is compiled in this thesis. The methodology of evaluation of the wind turbines economic efficiency is developed. The determination of the wind turbine suitability for specific loads according to nearly zero energy buildings is described. The principles of the DC based microgrid collaboration with the AC conventional grid are defined. The wind generator power converter and sinhronous generator self-excitation system was designed and tested. The Doctoral Thesis has been written in Latvian. It consists of an Introduction; 5 Chapters; Conclusion; 101 figures; 6 tables; 3 appendices; the total number of pages is 117. The Bibliography contains 175 titles.
