Since independence, Latvia has experienced progress in the process of evaluating architecture and construction, while stagnating. The annual award in Latvian architecture, as we understand and visualize it today, was founded in 1995 when the first annual performance of the Latvian Association of Architects was held. A year later, the first Latvian Construction Award Ceremony took place. Since then, the awards have mostly fragmented and multiplied quantitatively, not in content.
