This paper gives an overview on the potential of
demand side management of the existing commercial building
located in Latvia. It aims to achieve the rational use of energy
and cost reduction based on price responsive demand and
demonstrate first steps of implementation of commercial building
automation system with automated energy consumption
scheduling units for load flexibility and controllable portion
estimation. To activate demand response potential and enable
independent aggregator participation in the Latvian scale,
relationships between suppliers, BRPs, TSO and DSO are shown
within general electricity market structure, taking into account
the current status and promising areas of DR in the Baltic region.
