N,N-diethylanilinium bis(citrato)borate [C6H5NH(C2H5)2][(C6H6O7)2B] (I) has been synthesized for the first time. Single crystals were obtained; the crystal structure was studied by X-ray crystallography. Crystals of I are triclinic, space group P-1, a = 9.6183(2) Å, b = 10.3153(3) Å, c = 13.7364(4) Å,  = 69.0304(12),  = 77.0394(13),  = 89.5518(10), V = 1236.25(6) Å3, Z = 2, calc = 1.454 g/cm3. The structural units of compound I are large complex bis(citrato)borate anions with spiran structure and N,N-diethylanilinium cations. Hydrogen bond system is formed by five independent contacts of O–H...O, O–H...O, OI and N–H...O types.
