The goals of the Latvian transmission system operator is to ensure stable operation of the transmission system and safe power supply accordingly to energetics policies of the European Union. At the same time transmission system operator has to endorose the electricity market and help the transition of power generation industry to more enviromentaly friendly power generation technologies. In order for Latvia to achieve these goals the integration into the European electricity market is essencial.
