This paper summarizes the results of the analysis of the distribution of the wind energy in the territory of Latvia, which was performed based on wind speed observations at a height of 10 m. Observations were performed using certified measuring equipment in 22 meteorological observation stations owned by the Latvian Center of Environmental, geology and meteorology - the Latvian national hydrometeorological and climatic service. Based on the results of the measurements, average wind speed values were obtained with a one-minute increment in the period from 01.01.2015. until 31.12.2016. The spatial distribution model for mean wind speed and mean energy density was obtained with the spatial interpolation, which was based on measured values, and plotted on a map with a resolution of 1 x 1 km.
