Paul Kampe in Latvian Architecture

Architect Paul Camp (1885-1960) was known as a remarkable scientist - architectural historian and educator. He is the author of more than 70 scientific publications important in the history of culture in Latvia. Recent studies on the architecture of Liepaja make it necessary to reevaluate the significance of P. Kampe in the accumulation of the total amount of science and culture in Latvia. At least 11 buildings in Liepaja were built on his projects. He is impressive in his work in the construction bureaus and personal private practice of architects Alexander Schmaeling and Alexander Vanags in Riga. P.Kampe has authored more than 20 architecturally high-quality buildings in Riga. His name is to be recorded in the history of architecture in Latvia with significantly more bold letters than before.
