An acoustic emission (AE) method allow to perform online helicopter structure monitoring during bench test or real operations. It is very important to be able to find coordinates of a damaged bolt on a tail boom frame No.1 which is one on the most critical areas. In this article is given an experiment of the damaged bolt localization by means of AE method on the tail boom frame No.1 during helicopter bench test.
