Novel derivatives of fluoroquinolone antibiotic ciprofloxacin were synthesized. The
modifications of both the N- and C-termini were focused on introduction of functionalized linkers
that can be used for covalent attachment to natural or synthetic polymers with appropriate functional
groups.
