In this paper 3D electromagnetic modelling of
surface-mount components of EMI filters is presented. Developed
models in CST MWS are used to analyze parasitic couplings
between surface-mount inductors and surface-mount inductors
and capacitors. The couplings are evaluated in terms of
transmission coefficients. Modelling results are then verified
experimentally over wide frequency range. The models can be
fairly useful to predict the mutual couplings in the frequency
range from several MHz to several tens of MHz.
