L. pneumophila is known as the causative agent of Legionnaires’ disease, while freeliving protozoa (FLP) are considered as a vector and reservoir for bacterial population and serves as additional protection for pathogenic bacteria against high temperatures and disinfectants. The aim of this study was to investigate the co-occurrence of Legionella spp. and FLP in drinking water supply systems.
