Abstract The paper presents the results of short-wagon trolleybus Škoda 24Tr and long-wagon trolleybus Škoda 27Tr motion simulations with both vehicles travelling equal distance at equal time. Energy consumption differences for various loads caused by passenger amounts are analyzed and compared. The percentage differences by which long-wagon trolleybus traction drive consumes more energy, comparing to short-wagon trolleybus carrying the same passenger amounts, are calculated.
