Mathematical model for corrosion detection is proposed in the paper. In some applications (for example, in reinforced concrete) the volume of corrosion products is larger than that of the original steel. The corroded piece of metal is modeled by a cylinder with reduced electrical conductivity located on top of the conducting medium. Eddy current problem is solved by the method of separation of variables. Numerical results characterizing the problem are presented.
