In the article, studies of the energy efficiency of various technical and biomechanical vehicles are reflected, an analysis of the use of an electric bike as the main individual vehicle is carried out. Experimental studies of the dynamics and power of an electric bike are presented. The acceleration characteristics were measured by a traction electric drive and the dynamics of the acceleration were estimated at different battery charges. It is established that when a battery is used as an energy source, the acceleration time to a speed of 5 m/s decreases with the discharge of the battery. This is due to a decrease in the output power of the battery as it discharges due to a decrease in voltage and an increase in internal resistance (an increase in the voltage jump under load); Acceleration with pedaling leads to a significant reduction in the energy expended for acceleration to a given speed. At the same time, the path traversed by the electric bike during the acceleration time also increases. This means that the reduced power consumption in the acceleration mode with pedaling decreases even more; A rational relationship between the electrical and muscular components of the electric bike’s power is described. During the research it was determined that at different set speeds of acceleration and combined drive the muscular component of power reaches the maximum value and remains such that the electric component of power increases. When the acceleration decreases, the power of the resistance also decreases. Thus, as the power of the resistance decreases to a value that is determined by the rated power of the motor, the muscular component of the power is reduced to maintain a constant electrical component of power.
