The popularity of Blockchain Technology is growing rapidly. The scope of the technology application has gone beyond cryptocurrency and bitcoins. One of the most common areas in which blockchain technology is fast developing is logistics and supply chain management. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of transparency and reliability of moving goods from the production site to the consumer. Moreover, the paperwork that accompany a shipment of goods over the whole supply chain often leads to violations, confusion and even forgery of goods. Another important point for consideration is the quality of products that may require special storage conditions (e.g., frozen foods, meat or dairy products). This kind of products has a high risk to be damaged during transportation. As a result, the damaged products falling into the store shelves create risk factors for human diseases. In addition, the logistics companies are looking for new solutions to solve these problems. Some known logistics campaigns in collaboration with IT companies develop and apply blockchain solutions for improving transparency and reliability of a supply network and improving its performance.
