In this research mechanical, barrier as well as structural properties of layered silicate nanofiller modified
polypropylene and its hybrid composites with a range of lignocellulosic fillers – wood flour, oat husks and
spelt husks – are investigated. The effect of the amount of the nanofiller on the aforementioned properties
of the composites is evaluated. It is determined that the used layered silicate nanofiller up to certain
concentration can be successfully used to modify mechanical and barrier properties of polypropylene and
its hybrid composites with the used lignocellulosic fillers.
