Study of Sol-Gel Synthesis Parameter Influence on Modified Knitwear Surface Wettability
4th International Conference on Natural Fibers Smart Sustainable Solutions (ICNF2019): Book of Abstracts 2019
Ieva Baķe, Silvija Kukle, Zane Zelča

The article illustrates the impact of the silica sol modifier, Zinc acetate dehydrate compound concentration and its interaction with the sol-gel technological parameters consolidation time and temperature on the eco-cotton/polyamide (81/19) socks wettability. The obtained water contact angle of modified samples varies in a range from 108 to 129o in comparison with the unmodified control sample sorption angle 6050o at the end of the test, that matches the angles range of a low surface wettability (90o<0<180o).
