Automation of non-centralised shunting area of a railway station calls for a deep and thorough analysis of conditions of train traffic safety. When choosing a method of centralised points, signals, rail sections (or circuits), one needs to look at a possibility to use programmable logic controller (PLC) to switch and control the points and to control signals and rail sections. It also allows reducing time spent on route setting and locking thanks to created state matrix of objects of railway automation.
