Among the perspective topologies for a single-phase photo-voltaic inverter is Three-Level Neutral-Point-Clamped inverter topology. Single phase photo-voltaic inverters are suitable for implementation in households and other small facilities. This would allow to gradually transform electrical grid more towards a smart grid. Going towards this goal would demand from PV inverters highly reliable operation at low cost both of purchase and of maintenance. Striving for those highest possible features would demand to have optimized design of the inverter that would include possibly fullest set of physical variables of its components. This paper focuses on inverters output filter components.
