The conditions created in space simulation facilities during thermal vacuum testing of spacecraft are considered. Test challenges discussed to determine the limiting temperatures of the spacecraft structure and equipment, characteristics of the spacecraft thermal control system, internal loads. Definitions considered basic thermal characteristics of the spacecraft and its individual elements under test conditions and comparing them with the values obtained by calculation.
