In this research the authors investigate the impact of stimulated Raman scattering on the efficiency of parametric amplification by changing the initial power distribution between the pumps of a dual-pumps FOPA. The results are obtained in a 4 channel WDM transmissions system with binary differential phase shift keying modulation and transmission speed of 40 Gbps per channel, and a FOPA preamplifier. The benefit of optimizing the power distribution between the pumps will be assessed by comparing the lowest total pump power that could ensure the desired quality of the signal in all 4 channels in case when the power distribution between the pumps is specifically selected and case when the power of both pumps is equal.
