Each year of study increases the number of foreign students who arrive at Riga Technical University's, Faculty of E-Learning Technologies and Humanities from Asian countries with a view to supplementing their education, including continuing to learn the course “Latvian language as a foreign language”. A change in the study process was introduced by the notification of an emergency on 12 March 2020 in relation to the spread of COVID-19 virus. The task of instructors at this time is to ensure the continuity of the study process and to offer students other collaborative models, namely remote studies. The article aims to reveal the experience of the doctorate by offering foreign students who learn Latvian as a foreign language, two practical tasks and analyse the results obtained.
