The article presents the results of fiber-optical gyroscope (FOG) implementation analysis for camera stabilization systems. The main point of the research was to determine, whether the implementation of FOG sensor will improve the performance of the entire system, when comparing with a cheaper MEMS sensor and/or if there will be any additional benefits of such implementation. During the research, the several tests have been conducted for both types of sensors and the data obtained has been summarized in form of multiple charts. All tests were aimed to be as close to field environments, as it is possible to achieve, so that sensor behaviour could be evaluated in situations the average user can face while using stabilizing gimbal. All tests were successfully conducted, and the conclusions have been drawn based on the results, as well as several recommendations provided. Furthermore, some of the possible directions for further research have been outlined for practical application of the results obtained during the conducted experiments.
