Business process models can be constructed in different contexts and from different perspectives. Each modeling context prescribes a particular subspace of the potential business process modeling space, which can be characterized by certain business process dimensions. A normalized set of business process modeling dimensions may contribute to the clarity of business process model architectures, guide incremental business process modeling, and support business process analysis and visualization from different perspectives. Applicability of multidimensional business process modeling approach depends on the availability of appropriate business process modeling tools.
