Based on the Central Statistical Bureau's 2015 According to the data, 74.2% of all dwellings in the territory of Latvia were apartments. Of these, in that year, 88.1% were owned apartments in multi-apartment residential buildings with 10 and more apartments. Analyzing the expected service life of around 60-70 years and the commissioning period, it can be unequivocally stated that it is already necessary to invest in the proper maintenance, upkeep and development of housing, including energy efficiency measures, modernization of engineering communications, insulation, replacement or renovation of load-bearing structures.
