WBG Semiconductors, Interleaving and Integration of Magnetics for Non-Isolated DC-DC Converter Performance Improvement
2020 XI National Conference with International Participation (ELECTRONICA 2020): Proceedings 2020
Kaspars Kroičs

New wide bandgap devices enable higher switching frequency, higher efficiency and higher power density but still there are difficulties to increase switching frequency to megahertz range for industrial power supplies with a high efficiency. Due to this reason application of more advanced topologies, advanced magnetics, soft switching methods and other methods are applied. The paper introduces the challenges associated with an increase in switching frequency of DC-DC converter and explains benefits of interleaved topology and integration of magnetics. The paper gives some examples of practical results based on previous research made by the author.
