The magnetic pulse forming (MPF) method of powder materials is the most effective for producing the long billets of tubular and rod-shaped material. This paper discusses the features of MPF of iron powder. The effect of pulse pressure, discharge frequency, initial density and volume of the powder, dimensions, and material of the electrically conductive shell on the product's final density is investigated. Possible options for pressing powders with heat are also considered.
