The PhD thesis "Development of multifunctional porous materials on the basis of clay and glass waste and research of their properties" is devoted to the obtaining of porous ceramics from Latvian clay and household waste - glass cullet. Using modern technological approaches porous and highly porous clay-glass ceramics were obtained, their properties and practical application possibilities were studied. The doctoral thesis consists of an introduction, literature review, methodical part, evaluation of the results of the experimental part, conclusions, and used bibliography. The literature review is covering the methods of obtaining porous ceramics, their structure and properties, as well as the use of secondary glass for obtaining ceramic materials and modifying their properties. The methodical part of the work describes the materials used and the equipment used, the methods of obtaining clay-glass dense and porous ceramics, the applied research methods for achieving the goals and defined tasks. The third chapter analyses and summarizes the obtained experimental results. Changes in the phase composition of the clay-glass mixture during the firing process have been determined. The effect of glass additives on the compressive strength, apparent density, porosity and water absorption of ceramics has been studied. Using a drum type granulator, porous clay-glass ceramic granules were obtained from the studied compositions, their properties were studied, and the possibility of their use in the production of building blocks was shown. Using the direct foaming method in the disperser, highly porous clay-glass ceramics were obtained in the form of blocks and granules at different firing temperatures. The relationship between the firing temperature, glass content, compressive strength, density and specific surface area in the case of porous ceramics was found in the work. Possibilities of application of the obtained clay-glass highly porous ceramics for binding of organic textile dyes from wastewater, binding of petroleum products, use of porous ceramics as a moisture-retaining material in soil, as well as the use of highly porous ceramics for improving thermal insulation properties of building blocks are shown experimentally. The basics of original technology for obtaining porous clay-glass ceramics from Latvian (Liepa deposit) clay and glass waste have been developed. The dissertation is written in Latvian, its volume is 126 pages. The work contains 79 figures, 23 tables, and 216 references
