The main goals of the RTU study course "Basics of Patents" are the following: developing skills in the field of intellectual property protection and the basics of patent science; developing skills to solve problem situations, justify and defend their position; developing communication and other social skills. For achieving these goals, it is proposed to use a simulation method. Utilizing the situation simulation method, the involvement of all students, higher motivation, and interest in the field of the study course is achieved.
