Operational Risks and Their Reduction in Natural Gas Distribution Infrastructure

The natural gas distribution network is one of the most important elements of any country's gas supply system. Currently in Latvia and the challenges of the secure operation of natural gas distribution networks are becoming increasingly important in Eastern Europe not only today but also in the future, as the number of obsolete underground gas pipelines and their infrastructure continues to grow proportion of elements. It should be noted that the reconstruction of natural gas distribution pipelines has a fairly wide range of technologies and materials, although at the same time, there is no one-size-fits-all method. Economics of the Republic of Latvia Ministry in accordance with Regulation 2017/1938 of the European Parliament and of the Council (Regulation 2017/1938) on the supply of natural gas security protection measures 1 at the national level has developed a security risk for the supply of natural gas in Latvia 2018, as well as leading and coordinating the risk of the North-East Gas Coordination Group at the regional level assessment Regional Risk Assessment of Security of Gas Supply of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania 2018.
