Hydrogen Production Technologies and Latvia

This article discusses and analyzes the suitability of hydrogen production technologies for Latvia, as well as the world experience in the field of hydrogen transportation and storage. The possibility of transporting hydrogen in the existing Latvian gas supply networks is also considered and recommendations for their future use are given. Green hydrogen is produced in different ways: in Europe, the emphasis is now on electrolysis of water using electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) - solar, wind, water - so the article will also eliminate the share of RES electricity in Latvia.
