How to Teach Sustainable Innovation, Energy and Economic Aspects?
IEVF Akadēmiskā konference „Vērtēšanas process augstskolās – vienotas pieejas meklējumi vienmēr mainīgos apstākļos”: konferences rakstu krājums 2022
Elmārs Kehris

Sustainability is a model in which meeting the needs of today does not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their own (The United Nations 1987). But thinking about sustainability should not be long-term, it should be pragmatic and direct. The industrial revolution 4.0 is changing our everyday life much more rapidly, and Latvia must find an opportunity so that we can control our destiny, not just adapt to the changes. RTU must teach and address the most important sustainability issues in its curricula, such as: creation of innovation ecosystems, responsible and sustainable energy industry, and the impact of the green course and sustainability on the economy. The learning process must also be able to adapt to the rapid changes and opportunities provided by digital technologies in order to promote the development of human capital in Latvia.
