The quality of resource utilization, protection, reproduction as well as the state of the environment heavily influence economic growth and production efficiency. It is increasingly important to take ecological and social concerns into account when making decisions about sustainable development at the current stage of society’s development. It is increasingly important to take ecological and social concerns into account when making decisions about sustainable development at the current stage of society’s development. In this research, we attempted to evaluate the level of sustainable development in Uzbekistan using surveys, interviews with experts, and theoretical and statistical analysis. As a result of this research, we developed a formula for urban sustainability assessment in Uzbekistan. The analysis showed that although Uzbekistan is approaching sustainable goals, more actions must be taken to speed up that process. Among the most important country-specific factors affecting sustainability are sustainability awareness and gender equality.
