Detection and localization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are among the main problems of airports, military infrastructure, and security services due to modern UAV technology's growing availability and vast capabilities. Numerous studies addressed different methods of UAV detection; however, few articles compare existing methods in terms of their benefits and problems. In this article, the authors describe the main UAV detection methods: acoustic detection, radio frequency signal detection, visual detection, and radar detection. The authors compare and analyze the benefits and drawbacks of the presented methods and draw proposals for using the techniques and their combinations in real-life scenarios.
