It is widely known to use the method of magnetic-pulse processing of metals for stamping sheet and tubular parts, welding, and assembly operations. In powder metallurgy, this method also finds application for pressing powders, processing sintered powder products, and transporting discrete materials in various media. To improve the efficiency of the processing process, electromagnetic field shapers are used - concentrators that focus the field strength in a narrow working area and transmit it to a given distance from the emitter. The paper considers several main types of concentrators: electromechanical, electrodynamic, and magnetic. Their advantages and disadvantages are shown. The results of experimental studies using pulsed current generators are presented. Concentrators were made of cast bronze, silicon electrical 2 steel and powder materials. The studies allow us to give recommendations for choosing the parameters of the process of processing materials in a pulsed electromagnetic field and designing technological equipment and tools.
