The study proposes stacked interleaved DC-DC step-down converter with low output ripple level for resistance welding application. The low ripple level in the output allows to provide high quality junctions of small-scale details without splashes of metal. Accurate state-space model of the converter is used to analyze converter stability by means of Nyquist stability criterion. The results show that the proposed stacked interleaved DC-DC step-down converter stays stable regardless of the variations of duty cycle.
