Microclimate is a critical factor in the preservation of buildings and their objects. There are 226 religious buildings in the Republic of Latvia with the status of cultural monument of national importance. These and other cult buildings contain 1,385 movable and 993 immovable cultural and historical monuments belonging to them. The comfort options and requirements of modern churchgoers are several times different compared to the beginning of the 20th century.
