Democracy is a common everyday concept in our society, and we often do not even think about how wide its scope is. In the last three years, the Democracy Festival in Kuldīga makes us think more deeply and broadly about democracy. One of the submitted topics this year was What is energy democracy?, and a member of the Green Liberty Society, a researcher at Riga Technical University, Miķelis Dzikēvičs spoke about it. His talk touched on both the importance of renewable energy in mitigating climate change and what energy communities are and how they can contribute to energy democracy.
