Academic year 2021/2022 brought mournful messages – Vera Brunere, Pēteris Broks, Vladimirs Čuvičins, Juris Emsiņš, Sandra Dreiberga, Valdis Kampars, Olga Maksimova, Vadims Ņikitins, Inta Pelčere, Mihails Pudžs, Dmitrijs Puriševs, Rolands Rikards, Francis Sudnieks, Viktors Valgums, Inta Vītiņa, as well as an Honorary Doctor of RTU Jānis Bubenko, a long-term employee, the Head of the previous RTU Intellectual Property Protection Unit Māra Baltvilka, the founder and long-time Head of the RTU Men’s Choir «Gaudeamus», Honorary Chief Conductor of the Nationwide Latvian Song and Dance Festival Edgars Račevskis, an RTU graduate, President of RTU Student Parliament (2005–2007) Liene Aleksandra Batare, and a geography teacher of RTU Engineering High School Agra Lipsberga passed away.
