Purposeful Change in Transmission Line

Performance of AC long lines is enhanced with flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) arrangements. There are many ways for FACTS to act on the line to improve its specific indicators. At the given current and voltage at the receiving end, the current, voltage and power losses along the line and also at the sending end are of interest. In the best solution, these quantities are within the desired limits. In order to have any progress in this direction, it is necessary to affect the line in distributed way or pointwise. In the case of distributed intervention, the parameters of the line are changed, in the case of pointwise impact, the changes in the line are made in some place of it. It gives the desired or at least close to desired results. These questions are considered in the article.
