A nano-structured surface containing an Au nano-island film is used to fabricate hybrid liquid crystal (HLC) cells. HLCs are characterized by faster response times. The dynamic holographic technique is applied to make the conversion of the laser pulse shape by using HLCs. From a comparative analysis of experimental results with theoretical modeling of a dynamic process, the time constants of the dynamic grating recording and relaxation have been determined.
