The specific of three check border patterns from Vidzeme district Ērgļi is analyzed in this paper; motifs and ornamental groups are identified and cut out, the transformation them from one face of the belt to another are followed. The results of detailed analysis of the development principles of motifs and pattern composition as well the frequency of appearance of symbols and motifs are discussed in this paper.
