This article discusses a method for controlling the efficiency of second harmonic generation (SH) using metasurfaces. A new approach to efficiency management is proposed by means of controlled changes in the refractive index of the external environment. To achieve this goal, the authors propose to use a nematic liquid crystal E7, which can change its refractive index under the influence of external factors, such as an electric field. Simulations have been carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method. The use of a controlled change in the refractive index of the external medium makes it possible to achieve more efficient second harmonic generation and improve the quality of optical systems based on this phenomenon. The proposed method has potential for application in a wide range of fields, including optical communications, laser medicine and scientific research. In addition to this, it opens up new prospects for the development of more efficient and compact optical devices and systems.
