Plasmonics attracts great attention nowadays due to the possibility to induce and tune near and far fields of a system in various wavelength ranges. One of the interesting problems is to correctly identify and predict optical properties of plasmonic nanoparticles from the first principles. In this paper we consider a semi-phenomenological approach to calculate optical responce of gold nanospheres and dimers of such particles via quantum polarisabilities of their electrons. We show, that our calculations are in good agreement with experimental data.
