This paper proposes a method for obtaining the relative permeance in teeth zone of Homopolar Inductor Alternator (HIA). The dependence of the relative permeance on the rotor rotation angle is calculated using the shape and relative dimensions of the teeth zone. This allows to obtain the magnitude and waveform of the EMF of a HIA, where the results are also expressed in relative, i.e., in conditional units. The use of relative units allows for comparative quantitative analysis between various teeth zone variants eliminating the influence of the design features of a particular machine as well as without resorting to a full electromagnetic calculation of the HIA.
