The Rules for Selling Solar Panel Energy are Changing – Who will Gain or Lose?

With the amendments adopted by the Saeima (Parliament), the rules of the game will change in how households will be paid for the solar energy produced by them and transferred to the distribution network, namely from net metering to a net billing system. Experts interviewed by Latvian Radio do not hide that the new billing system will no longer be as attractive to households, however, its goal is to encourage energy to be consumed when it is produced, rather than stored.
