This paper presents improvement for the alignment of the rotor of permanent magnet synchronous motor equipped with incremental encoder during start-up of the motor. Proposed improvement allows easier transition to real rotor position angle detection from encoder signal and more precise field-oriented control implementation. Rotor alignment in the known position is achieved faster without vibration. Improvements allow easier transition to field-oriented control algorithm. Experimental results confirm that the method can be implemented in the microcontroller that controls the inverter.
