E-learning inherently relies on electronic devices, which serve as the interface between students and the educational materials posted in digital environments. Through these devices, students engage with theoretical material, complete tests, perform practical assignments and submit reports. However, the type of device used may have an implicit impact on student academic performance. This study investigates whether learning outcomes differ among students using personal computers, smartphones or tablets. The chi-square test was used to analyze the data and identify statistically significant relationships between the type of device used and student learning outcomes. The analysis includes comparisons across all three device types as well as pairwise comparisons. Standardized residuals were calculated to assess the contribution of each device type to the observed results, revealing that the students used PCs achieved the best outcomes. Additionally, success rates were calculated for each device type, confirming that students using PCs outperformed those using smartphones or tablets. No significant difference was found between the outcomes of students using smartphones and tablets. The research results can be used to optimize e-learning platforms and to guide students in selecting appropriate devices for studying.
